Individual Membership

Who It’s For: Individuals passionate about community service and personal growth.

What’s Included: 

  • Access to member meetings
  • Participation in service projects
  • Opportunities to join committees

 

Important Information for Prospective Members

  • Attend a few meetings as our guest to discover how your values align with Rotary's mission and community impact.
  • Membership is by proposal from an existing member (if you don't know a member, please attend a meeting to connect with one).

Fees:

  • Annual dues: $635
  • Reduced rate for under 40 years: $318
  • One-time initiation fee: $100

 

Membership Responsibilities

  • Being engaged in Rotary can take various forms: attending Tuesday meetings, participating in service projects, doing club committee work, attending the meetings of other Rotary clubs, or serving on District, Zone, or Rotary Intl. committees.
  • Regular charitable giving to The Rotary Foundation (TRF), the Calgary Rotary Funds Foundation (CRCF), or both is expected. These foundations support our international and local projects that bring great benefit through Rotarians everywhere.
  • Contribute to at least one service project, such as our Christmas Hampers program.
  • Committees: Members are expected to join and be total participants in at least one of the club's areas of service, fund-raising or organizational committees. Applications to join a committee should be made to the committee chair listed on the club website. Committee membership enables members to develop close friendships while working alongside fellow members to achieve good outcomes for the club and humanity and to have fun along the way. 
  • Pass a Police Information Check within three months of being approved as a new member. The club covers the cost of the police check. 

 

Once you decide RCCD is right for you, submit your Application for Membership. It must include two current club members as proposers. An interview with a member of the Membership Committee will follow. If membership is recommended, your name will be published for one week in the member newsletter by way of notice. Assuming there are no objections, your application will be approved by the Board. The member application process may take 6 to 8 weeks.

Joint Membership

Who It’s For: Two individuals in the same household who want to participate together.

What’s Included: 

  • Shared engagement in Rotary activities including access to member meetings
  • Participation in service projects
  • Opportunities to join committees

  • Ages 40-69 years: $435.75 per person
  • Ages 70+ years: $412.50
  • One-time initiation fee: $100
